Year 3: Kingswood
One of our firm educational philosophies is the values and benefits of outdoor education. We aim to continue with a progressive residential experience throughout the Key Stage 2 age group.
Outdoor education promotes active learning through personal experience; it offers excitement, fun and adventure within a framework of safety. It builds self-confidence and self-esteem which are essential to any young person’s development and an important part of the ethos of Junction Farm.
The plan for Year 3 children next year is to experience a residential trip of 2 nights/ 3 days.
We have provisionally booked Kingswood in Hexham from Wednesday 26th April to Friday 28th April 2017 for as many of the class who would like to go, HOPEFULLY ALL OF THEM. This may be the first time away from home for some of the children, may I assure you that the recent Year 3 children had a wonderful time and can’t wait for their next residential trip.
The cost of this trip will be £120, which will be spread out with an initial deposit of £30 by Monday 26th September, and three further payments of £30 by 14th November, 9th January and 20th February. This price includes all food, transport and activities.
The children will leave school at 9.30am on the Wednesday and return by 3.15pm on Friday.
During their time at Kingswood the children will be involved in a wide range of activities:-
