Year 2: Carlton Adventure
Year 2 Carlton Residential 2019
As you may be aware outdoor education and learning outside the classroom are a valued part of the curriculum at Junction Farm Primary School. In KS2 all children have the opportunity to attend a residential trip every year.
Last year we extended that opportunity to Y2, offering an overnight stay to Carlton Outdoor Centre with them taking part in various outdoor activities on the day of arrival and the following day.
We have provisionally booked the centre for Thursday 28th March 2019. We will depart that morning and return at approximately 3pm on Friday 29th March 2019.
This is an optional trip, however we have experienced children’s confidence and social skills blossom during and after residential trips in all year groups, so we would highly recommend it. If your child does not attend, they are still expected to come to school as normal.
The total cost of the trip has not yet been confirmed but we think it will be no more than £75. This covers the cost of travel, food, activities, equipment and accommodation. We would request a 10% deposit which is £7.50 by parent mail once we have had confirmation from you that your child is attending.
Please complete and return the reply slip to set up payment by Monday 6th November.

Date of 2018 residential: 19th – 20th March 2018
Last year, 52 children from Year 2 went to Carlton Adventure (previously known as Carlton Outdoor Education).
We thoroughly enjoyed the following activities;
- Indoor rock climbing
- Gorge walking
- Fairy den making
- Sandwich making (yes, the children made their own packed lunches – from scratch!)
We look forward to organising another Y2 residential with Carlton Adventure next year!
