As most of you are aware we aim to improve our residential programme all the time and try to give you all as much notice as we can to allow you to prepare for the trips. The courses and centres we have chosen offer a progression in outdoor education through KS2.
Y6 will be visiting Carlton Lodge near Thirsk in the Summer Term. We feel that this centre offers Y6 children more of a challenge after their progressive outdoor education programme through KS2. It offers the children more opportunities to experience a better range of natural outdoor activities offsite, such as rock climbing, caving and gorge walking. As well as challenging activities at the centre base, including kayaking and raft building on a 4 acre lake, high ropes and zip wire. All activities are instructor led until 8.30pm each evening. This trip is often the highlight of the school year for Y6 where they make lasting memories.
Carlton Lodge is located on the outskirts of Carlton Minniot near Thirsk, the centre is on an extensive site with excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. We have provisionally booked the accommodation for 8th-12th July 2019. School will help subsidise the cost for transport which will bring the cost to £310 per child. The price includes 4 nights’ accommodation, all food (bring own packed lunch on first day), activities and transport. A 10% deposit will be required through Parent Mail once you have confirmed your interest to allow us to set up a payment account for this trip. The cost for Pupil Premium children will be the non-refundable 10% deposit. Please complete and return the reply slip below no later than Monday 24th September.
Please contact me if your child is entitled to free school meals or is Pupil Premium as this will reduce the cost of your child’s trip.
If you would like to discuss this any further don’t hesitate to contact me, parents and carers comments are always appreciated.
